Every odd year; 2005, 2007,
2009....Contemporary Art Exhibitions are held in September
and October in Istanbul. Each year the location of the
exhibitions may change but, here are the main exhibition
halls for Istanbul Biennials:
• Upper Gallery of the St.
Sophia Church is one of the exhibit places of the Istanbul
Biennials where Paintings, Photographs, Installations and
Video Shows are displayed.
• ANTREPO 4 Exhibition
Hall. It is also served as the center of the Biennial.
Paintings, Video Shows are displayed here. Suggested
visiting time is two hours.
• TOPHANEI AMIRE: Built in
1491, this building first was a war-cannon manufacturing
facility, then became a part of the Mimar Sinan University.
Suggested visiting time is one hour.
• Underground Cistern where
Paintings, Installations and Video Shows are displayed.
Suggested visit time is one hour.
